Background of the Study

Workplace nursing policies are integral to ensuring that healthcare facilities run efficiently and provide high-quality care to patients. These policies regulate nursing practices, define roles and responsibilities, and establish standards for patient safety, infection control, and professional ethics (Afolabi et al., 2023). At State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, nursing policies play a crucial role in guiding the actions of nursing staff, from patient assessments to medication administration. When effectively implemented, workplace nursing policies contribute to the overall quality of care delivered to patients.

Healthcare quality is multifaceted, encompassing clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and the efficiency of healthcare delivery (Williams et al., 2023).   3. Improving policy enforcement and adherence will enhance healthcare quality at State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.

This study will focus on nursing policies and healthcare quality at State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri. Limitations may include variability in nursing practices across different departments and the challenge of measuring the direct impact of policies on patient outcomes.
