ABSTRACT: Innovations in vocational education for careers in smart agriculture are critical for developing a workforce capable of leveraging advanced technologies in farming. This study aimed to: (1) explore the current state of vocational education programs focused on smart agriculture, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods in enhancing students' skills and knowledge, and (3) identify challenges and opportunities for further innovation. A survey research design was chosen to collect data from students, educators, and industry experts. The sample size comprised 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling from Oyo State. The case study focused on a vocational training institute known for its agriculture programs. Findings indicated that innovations such as the use of IoT, precision farming tools, and data analytics significantly improved students' understanding and practical skills, although challenges such as high costs and the need for continuous updates to the curriculum were noted. Recommendations included increasing investment in smart agriculture technologies, providing ongoing training for educators, and fostering industry partnerships to ensure that the programs remain aligned with technological advancements.
