ABSTRACT: Developing vocational training programs for careers in biotechnology research is essential for fostering a skilled workforce capable of contributing to this rapidly growing field. The study's objectives were to: (1) assess the current state of vocational training programs related to biotechnology, (2) evaluate the alignment of these programs with industry demands, and (3) propose enhancements to better prepare students for careers in biotechnology research. A survey research design was chosen to collect data from educators, students, and biotechnology professionals. The sample size included 130 respondents selected via purposive sampling from Anambra State. The case study focused on a vocational institute with a strong emphasis on biotechnology. Findings indicated that while foundational knowledge was adequately covered, there was a need for more advanced training and research opportunities. Recommendations highlighted the importance of incorporating cutting-edge biotechnological techniques, fostering industry partnerships for research internships, and ensuring continuous curriculum updates to align with technological advancements.
