ABSTRACT: The role of vocational education in supporting the electric vehicle supply chain is crucial for the development of a skilled workforce that can meet the demands of this emerging industry. The objectives of this study were to: (1) analyze the current vocational education programs related to electric vehicles, (2) assess the alignment of these programs with industry requirements, and (3) identify gaps and suggest improvements. A survey research design was chosen for this study to gather comprehensive data from various stakeholders, including educators, students, and industry professionals. The sample size consisted of 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling from Lagos State. The case study focused on a leading vocational training institute in Lagos. Findings revealed that while vocational programs provided a solid foundation in technical skills, there was a significant gap in advanced training and industry-specific competencies. Recommendations included updating curricula to incorporate emerging technologies and fostering partnerships between educational institutions and the electric vehicle industry to ensure alignment with industry needs.
