ABSTRACT: The impact of digital twin technology on vocational training in manufacturing is significant for modernizing educational methodologies and enhancing practical skills. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of digital twin technology in vocational training, identify the key competencies developed through this technology, and assess student readiness for manufacturing careers. A survey design was employed to collect data from students enrolled in vocational training programs utilizing digital twin technology. The sample size comprised 300 students from various technical institutions specializing in manufacturing and industrial engineering. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with a background in engineering and an interest in digital technologies. The case study was conducted at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that digital twin technology significantly enhanced students' practical skills, provided detailed simulations of manufacturing processes, and improved their readiness for industry roles. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the digital twin-based training, noting its interactive and practical nature. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their use of digital twin technology and continuously update training programs to include the latest advancements and industry needs.
