ABSTRACT: The impact of blockchain for enhancing transparency in vocational credentials is transformative, offering secure and verifiable records of academic achievements. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of blockchain technology in enhancing transparency in vocational credentials, identify the specific benefits and challenges associated with its implementation, and assess student and employer satisfaction with blockchain-based credentialing. A survey design was employed to gather detailed data from participants involved in blockchain-based credentialing systems. The sample size comprised 220 students and 50 employers from various vocational institutions and industries. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with prior experience in blockchain technology. The case study was conducted at Covenant University, Ogun State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that blockchain technology significantly improved the transparency and security of vocational credentials, reduced instances of credential fraud, and increased trust among employers and educational institutions. Both students and employers expressed high levels of satisfaction with the blockchain-based credentialing system, appreciating its reliability and ease of verification. It was recommended that vocational training institutions adopt blockchain technology for credentialing and provide training for educators and administrators on effective implementation to enhance transparency and trust in academic achievements.
