ABSTRACT: Enhancing vocational education through the use of robotics and automation represents a significant advancement in preparing students for modern technological careers. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of incorporating robotics and automation into vocational education, identify the specific skills and competencies developed, and assess student satisfaction with these innovative training methods. A survey design was utilized to gather comprehensive data from participants involved in robotics and automation training. The sample size included 250 students from various technical institutions specializing in engineering and technology. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with prior exposure to basic robotics and automation concepts. The case study was conducted at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that integrating robotics and automation into vocational education significantly enhanced students' technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of modern manufacturing processes. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the training, noting the relevance and applicability of the skills acquired. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their robotics and automation curricula and provide continuous professional development for educators to ensure effective teaching and up-to-date knowledge transfer.
