ABSTRACT: Innovations in vocational training for careers in renewable energy engineering are essential for developing a workforce capable of meeting the demands of the growing renewable energy sector. This study aimed to identify effective innovations in vocational training for renewable energy, assess their impact on student skills, and evaluate overall student satisfaction with the training programs. A survey design was selected to gather detailed insights from participants in renewable energy vocational training. The sample size included 200 students from various technical institutions specializing in renewable energy technologies. Purposive sampling ensured the selection of participants with a background in engineering and interest in renewable energy. The case study was conducted at the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that innovative training methods, such as hands-on projects with solar panels and wind turbines, simulations, and industry collaborations, significantly improved students' technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the curriculum, noting its relevance and applicability to real-world energy challenges. It was recommended that vocational training institutions continuously integrate cutting-edge renewable energy technologies and foster partnerships with the energy sector to keep pace with advancements in the field.
