ABSTRACT: The role of vocational education in supporting sustainable forestry practices is vital for the conservation and sustainable management of forest resources. This study aimed to evaluate how vocational education programs contribute to sustainable forestry, identify the specific skills and competencies developed, and assess overall student satisfaction with the training programs. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from participants in sustainable forestry training. The sample size included 150 students from various vocational institutions specializing in environmental sciences and forestry. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with a background in forestry and environmental studies. The case study was conducted at the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that vocational education significantly enhanced students' skills in forest management, sustainable logging practices, and biodiversity conservation. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the curriculum, noting its relevance and practical applications. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their forestry programs to include more hands-on field training and develop partnerships with environmental organizations to ensure the curriculum remains current and impactful.
