ABSTRACT: Exploring the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in vocational education for healthcare is crucial for preparing students to utilize AI technologies in medical settings. This study aimed to assess how AI integration enhances vocational training in healthcare, identify the specific skills and competencies developed, and measure student satisfaction with AI-enhanced training programs. A survey design was employed to collect detailed insights from participants in AI-based healthcare training. The sample size comprised 180 students from various vocational healthcare programs. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with a foundational knowledge of healthcare practices and interest in AI applications. The case study was conducted at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that AI integration significantly improved students' diagnostic and analytical skills, enhanced their understanding of AI-driven healthcare tools, and provided hands-on experience with AI applications in medical imaging and patient management. Students expressed high levels of satisfaction with the AI-enhanced curriculum, appreciating its relevance and practical benefits. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their AI curricula and foster collaborations with tech companies and healthcare providers to ensure up-to-date and comprehensive training.
