ABSTRACT: The impact of sustainable design principles in vocational education is pivotal in fostering environmentally conscious professionals. This study aimed to evaluate how vocational education programs integrate sustainable design principles, identify the specific skills and knowledge areas developed, and assess student satisfaction with the training. A survey design was chosen to gather comprehensive data from participants. The sample size included 200 students enrolled in sustainable design vocational programs. Purposive sampling was used to select students with relevant experience in sustainable design education. The case study was conducted at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that vocational education significantly enhanced students' understanding of sustainable design concepts, improved their skills in resource-efficient practices, and increased their commitment to environmental stewardship. Students expressed high levels of satisfaction with the curriculum, noting its relevance and practical applications. It was recommended that vocational training institutions expand their focus on sustainable design principles and provide ongoing professional development for instructors to stay updated on the latest sustainability trends.
