ABSTRACT: Developing curricula for vocational training in sustainable aquaculture addresses the critical need for education systems to prepare students for environmentally responsible aquaculture practices. The study aimed to create a curriculum that incorporates sustainable practices, evaluate the curriculum's effectiveness in imparting necessary skills, and measure student satisfaction with the training program. A survey design was chosen to gather detailed feedback from students and educators involved in the pilot curriculum. The sample size included 150 students from vocational training institutes offering aquaculture programs. Purposive sampling ensured that participants had relevant experience and knowledge in aquaculture. The case study was based at the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) in Lagos State. Findings indicated that the new curriculum effectively taught sustainable aquaculture practices, increased students' awareness of environmental issues, and provided practical skills for sustainable fish farming. Students reported high satisfaction levels, appreciating the hands-on learning approach and the curriculum's relevance to current industry standards. It was recommended that the curriculum be adopted nationwide and regularly updated to reflect the latest sustainable practices and technologies in aquaculture.
