ABSTRACT: Addressing Career Counseling Needs in Vocational Education examines the critical role of career counseling in guiding vocational students towards informed career decisions and successful career pathways. This study investigates the challenges faced by vocational students in accessing effective career counseling services and explores strategies to improve career guidance in vocational education settings. The objectives were: to assess the current status of career counseling services in vocational schools, to identify barriers to effective career counseling for vocational students, and to propose strategies for enhancing career counseling programs. A survey research design was employed to collect data from vocational students, educators, and career counselors, providing insights into perceptions of career counseling effectiveness and areas needing improvement. A sample size of 200 respondents was purposively selected to include participants from vocational schools in Enugu State, Nigeria, known for their diverse vocational education programs. The case study focused on a vocational center in Nsukka, highlighting successful models of career counseling implementation and their impact on student career outcomes. Findings indicated that while career counseling services were available, students faced challenges such as limited counselor availability and insufficient information about career options. It is recommended that vocational schools should enhance counselor training, establish structured career guidance programs, utilize technology for career exploration, strengthen partnerships with industry for internships and job placements, and promote awareness of career opportunities to empower vocational students in making informed career choices.
