ABSTRACT: A study on Language Barriers in Vocational Training Programs investigates strategies to overcome linguistic challenges faced by non-native speakers in vocational education settings. This study examines how language proficiency impacts learning outcomes and proposes solutions to enhance inclusivity and effectiveness in vocational training. The objectives were: to identify barriers caused by language differences in vocational training, to evaluate current practices for supporting language diversity, and to recommend interventions for improving language access and support. A survey research design was employed to gather data from vocational instructors, students, and language support providers, offering insights into language-related challenges and effective strategies. A sample size of 200 respondents was purposively selected to include individuals with diverse linguistic backgrounds within vocational programs. The case study focused on the Federal Science and Technical College, Orozo, Abuja. Findings indicated that language barriers hindered comprehension, engagement, and performance among non-native speakers, affecting their overall learning experience. It is recommended that vocational institutions should implement language support programs, provide bilingual instructional materials, offer language proficiency courses, and foster a culturally inclusive environment to optimize learning outcomes for all students.
