ABSTRACT: Examining Industry 4.0 Skills Requirements in Vocational Programs explores strategies for preparing vocational students with the skills needed for the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). This study aims to identify and address gaps in Industry 4.0 skills within vocational education to meet the evolving demands of modern industries. The objectives were: to analyze the key skills required for Industry 4.0 sectors such as automation, IoT, and data analytics, to assess the readiness of current vocational programs in integrating these skills, and to propose recommendations for enhancing Industry 4.0 skills development in vocational education. A survey design was employed to collect detailed data from industry experts, vocational educators, and employers, providing insights into skills gaps and educational responses. A sample size of 300 respondents was chosen using a purposive sampling technique to include participants with expertise in Industry 4.0 technologies and vocational training. The case study focused on the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, Rivers State. Findings indicated significant gaps between Industry 4.0 skills demand and vocational program offerings, highlighting the need for curriculum updates, faculty training, and industry partnerships. It was recommended that vocational institutions should establish Industry 4.0 centers of excellence, integrate hands-on projects and internships with industry partners, and provide continuous professional development for educators to ensure graduates are equipped with relevant skills for future careers.
