ABSTRACT: The Impact of Soft Skills Development on Vocational Job Performance explores the influence of non-technical skills on the workplace effectiveness of vocational graduates. This study investigates how the acquisition of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving enhances job performance in vocational settings. The objectives were: to assess the importance of soft skills in vocational job roles, to analyze the correlation between soft skills development and job performance metrics, and to identify effective strategies for integrating soft skills training into vocational education. A survey research design was chosen to gather insights from vocational employers, educators, and recent graduates, providing a comprehensive understanding of soft skills' impact on vocational job outcomes. A sample size of 300 respondents was purposively selected to include stakeholders from diverse vocational sectors across Nigeria. The case study focused on the Government Technical College, Garki, Abuja, providing insights into local vocational education dynamics. Findings indicated that soft skills significantly contributed to job performance through improved interpersonal interactions, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in dynamic work environments. It is recommended that vocational institutions should embed soft skills training into curricula, collaborate with industry partners to identify essential soft skills for specific job roles, provide experiential learning opportunities, and promote continuous skill development to enhance vocational graduates' job readiness and performance.
