ABSTRACT: The Role of Industry Advisory Boards in Shaping Vocational Curricula is essential for ensuring that training programs remain relevant and responsive to labor market needs. This study explored the influence of industry advisory boards (IABs) on the development and implementation of vocational curricula. The objectives were: to assess the current involvement of IABs in vocational education, to evaluate the impact of IAB recommendations on curriculum content and delivery, and to identify best practices for effective collaboration between vocational institutions and industry advisory boards. A survey design was chosen to collect detailed data from vocational educators, industry representatives, and IAB members, providing comprehensive insights into the role and effectiveness of IABs. A sample size of 300 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants with relevant experience and insights were included. The case study focused on the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Lagos State. Findings indicated that IABs significantly influenced curriculum development, ensuring that training programs were aligned with industry needs and standards. It was recommended that vocational institutions should actively engage with IABs, implement their recommendations, and regularly review and update curricula based on industry feedback.
