ABSTRACT: Innovations in Virtual Reality Simulations for Vocational Training are revolutionizing the way students acquire practical skills. This study explored the implementation and effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) simulations in vocational education. The objectives were: to assess the current use of VR simulations in vocational training, to evaluate their impact on student learning outcomes and engagement, and to identify challenges and best practices for VR implementation. A survey design was chosen for its ability to collect comprehensive data from a large number of respondents, providing detailed insights into the use and effectiveness of VR. A sample size of 280 vocational training students and instructors was selected using a purposive sampling technique to include those with experience using VR simulations. The case study was the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State. Findings revealed that VR simulations significantly enhanced student engagement, improved learning outcomes, and provided realistic, hands-on experience in a safe environment. However, challenges such as high costs and the need for technical expertise were noted. It was recommended that vocational institutions should invest in VR technology, provide training for educators, and seek partnerships with technology providers to reduce costs and enhance implementation.
