ABSTRACT: The Impact of Global Trends on Vocational Curriculum Development is crucial for ensuring that vocational training remains relevant and effective in a rapidly changing world. This study examined how global trends influence the development of vocational curricula and the preparedness of students for the modern workforce. The objectives were: to identify key global trends affecting vocational education, to evaluate their impact on curriculum content and delivery methods, and to propose strategies for integrating these trends into vocational curricula. A survey design was utilized to collect comprehensive data from a diverse group of stakeholders, enabling a detailed analysis of the influences and adaptations. A sample size of 300 vocational educators, curriculum developers, and industry experts was selected using a purposive sampling technique to include those with relevant experience and insights. The case study focused on the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, Lagos State. Findings indicated that global trends such as digitalization, sustainability, and globalization significantly influenced curriculum development, necessitating updates to content and teaching methods. It was recommended that vocational institutions should continuously monitor global trends, engage in regular curriculum reviews, and incorporate flexible, forward-thinking strategies to ensure their programs remain current and effective.
