ABSTRACT: The Role of Blockchain Technology in Credentialing Vocational Skills is an emerging area with significant potential for transforming how vocational qualifications are verified and recognized. This study explored the application of blockchain technology in the credentialing process for vocational skills. The objectives were: to assess the current use of blockchain in vocational credentialing, to evaluate its impact on the credibility and portability of vocational qualifications, and to identify challenges and benefits associated with its implementation. A survey design was employed to gather detailed information from a broad sample of stakeholders, enabling an in-depth analysis. A sample size of 200 vocational training administrators, employers, and students was selected using a purposive sampling technique to include those with experience or interest in blockchain technology. The case study focused on the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State. Findings revealed that blockchain technology significantly enhanced the credibility and transparency of vocational credentials, making them more portable and verifiable across different regions and industries. However, challenges such as technical complexity and the need for widespread adoption were noted. It was recommended that vocational institutions and industry stakeholders should collaborate to develop standardized blockchain credentialing systems, provide training on blockchain technology, and promote its benefits to ensure broader adoption.
