ABSTRACT: The Impact of Socio-Economic Factors on Vocational Training Access and Success is a critical area of study for understanding the barriers and facilitators to effective vocational education. This study explored how socio-economic factors influence the accessibility and success rates of vocational training programs. The objectives were: to identify the key socio-economic factors affecting access to vocational training, to evaluate their impact on student success and completion rates, and to propose strategies for mitigating adverse effects. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from a diverse range of respondents, enabling a thorough analysis of the socio-economic influences. A sample size of 300 vocational training students and educators was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants with varied socio-economic backgrounds were included. The case study focused on the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Lagos State. Findings revealed that factors such as income levels, parental education, and access to financial resources significantly affected students' ability to enroll and succeed in vocational training programs. It was recommended that policymakers should increase financial aid opportunities, provide subsidized training programs, and implement community outreach initiatives to enhance access and success in vocational training for socio-economically disadvantaged groups.
