ABSTRACT: Addressing Gender Stereotypes in Technical Career Paths is essential for fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce. This study examined the prevalence and impact of gender stereotypes in technical career paths and identified strategies to mitigate these stereotypes. The objectives were: to assess the extent of gender stereotypes in technical education and careers, to evaluate their impact on students' career choices and performance, and to identify effective strategies for reducing these stereotypes. A survey design was adopted due to its ability to collect detailed information from a large group of respondents, enabling a comprehensive analysis. A sample size of 300 students and educators in technical fields was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants had relevant experiences. The case study was the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Findings revealed that gender stereotypes were prevalent and negatively influenced career choices and performance, particularly among female students. It was recommended that technical institutions should implement gender sensitivity training, promote female role models in technical fields, and develop policies that encourage gender diversity and inclusion.
