ABSTRACT: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Vocational Education in Promoting Social Mobility is essential for understanding its role in improving individuals' socioeconomic status. This study aimed to assess how vocational education contributes to social mobility. The objectives were: to determine the extent to which vocational education enhances employability, to evaluate the impact of vocational education on income levels, and to examine the role of vocational education in improving social status. A survey design was adopted due to its ability to gather detailed and extensive data from a wide range of respondents within a limited time frame, thus providing a comprehensive analysis. A sample size of 350 vocational education graduates was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants had undergone vocational training. The case study focused on the Government Technical College in Enugu State. Findings revealed that vocational education significantly improved employability, increased income levels, and enhanced social status among graduates. It was recommended that policymakers should strengthen vocational education programs, provide continuous support for graduates, and promote the recognition of vocational qualifications to further enhance social mobility.
