ABSTRACT: Addressing Environmental Sustainability in Vocational Training Programs is increasingly important as global environmental concerns rise. This study explored how vocational training programs incorporate environmental sustainability principles. The objectives were: to evaluate the current incorporation of environmental sustainability in vocational training, to identify effective strategies for enhancing sustainability education, and to determine the impact of these strategies on students' environmental awareness and practices. A survey design was chosen for its capacity to gather comprehensive data from a diverse group of respondents within a short period. A sample size of 220 vocational training educators and students was selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure participants were knowledgeable about sustainability issues. The case study was the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos State. Findings revealed that while environmental sustainability was addressed in vocational training, there was a need for more practical, hands-on approaches and integration into all aspects of the curriculum. It was recommended that vocational training programs should incorporate more sustainability-focused projects, provide training for educators on sustainability practices, and collaborate with environmental organizations to enhance the practical application of sustainability principles.
