ABSTRACT: This study investigates innovations in promoting sustainable practices in vocational training, focusing on initiatives that integrate environmental awareness and sustainable development principles into vocational education curricula. Sustainable practices are increasingly critical in vocational training to prepare students for careers in industries committed to environmental stewardship and resource efficiency. The objectives were to (1) identify innovative approaches and technologies promoting sustainability in vocational training, (2) assess the impact of sustainable practices on student learning outcomes and industry relevance, and (3) propose strategies to enhance the integration of sustainability into vocational education programs. A survey research design was chosen to gather insights from vocational educators, industry professionals, and environmental experts, exploring their perspectives on current practices and future directions in sustainable vocational training. The sample size comprised 200 participants, selected through purposive sampling to include stakeholders from vocational institutions and sustainability-focused organizations across Nigeria. The case study focused on Cross River State, renowned for its eco-friendly initiatives and sustainable development projects. Findings revealed that integrating sustainability into vocational curricula enhanced student engagement, practical skills in environmental management, and industry competitiveness. Effective practices included project-based learning on sustainable technologies, partnerships with green industries, and certification programs in environmental stewardship. Recommendations included curriculum updates to include sustainable practices, professional development for educators on green technologies, and fostering partnerships with industry and environmental agencies to support sustainable vocational education initiatives.
