ABSTRACT: This study examines the effectiveness of mentorship programs in vocational settings, focusing on their impact on student learning, career development, and overall educational outcomes. The objectives were to (1) assess the perceived benefits and challenges of mentorship programs in vocational education, (2) evaluate the role of mentors in supporting vocational students' personal and professional growth, and (3) propose strategies to enhance the effectiveness of mentorship programs in vocational settings. A survey research design was chosen to collect data from vocational students, educators, and mentors, providing insights into their experiences and perspectives on mentorship. The sample size included 200 participants, selected through purposive sampling to ensure representation from various vocational fields and mentorship program participants across Nigeria. The case study focused on Lagos State, known for its diverse vocational training institutions and active mentorship initiatives. Findings indicated that mentorship programs positively influenced students' confidence, skill development, and career readiness. Effective mentorship strategies included structured mentor-mentee matching, regular feedback sessions, and integration of mentorship into vocational curricula. Recommendations included expanding mentorship opportunities for vocational students, enhancing mentor training programs, and fostering partnerships between vocational institutions and industry mentors to provide real-world insights.
