ABSTRACT: This study explores the role of industry advisory boards in the development of vocational curricula, emphasizing their impact on aligning educational programs with labor market demands. The objectives were to (1) evaluate the current involvement of industry advisory boards in curriculum development, (2) assess the effectiveness of their contributions in improving vocational education outcomes, and (3) propose strategies to enhance the collaboration between industry advisory boards and vocational institutions. A survey design was used to gather data from vocational educators, industry representatives, and students. The sample size included 200 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure diverse industry representation. The case study focused on Rivers State, Nigeria, an area with a strong industrial presence. Findings revealed that industry advisory boards played a significant role in curriculum development, but their involvement varied widely. Effective collaboration led to more relevant and updated curricula, improving student preparedness for the workforce. Recommendations included formalizing the role of industry advisory boards, increasing the frequency of their meetings with educational institutions, and ensuring that their feedback is systematically integrated into curriculum planning and updates.
