ABSTRACT: This study explores the role of leadership development in vocational institutions, emphasizing its impact on the quality of education and institutional performance. The objectives were to (1) assess the current state of leadership development programs in vocational institutions, (2) evaluate the relationship between leadership development and educational outcomes, and (3) propose strategies to enhance leadership development in these institutions. A survey design was employed to gather data from administrators, educators, and students within vocational institutions, providing a comprehensive understanding of leadership dynamics. The sample size included 150 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure representation from various levels of leadership. The case study focused on Ogun State, Nigeria, known for its concentration of vocational training centers. Findings indicated that while leadership development programs were present, they were often inconsistent and lacked sufficient resources. Effective leadership development was found to be strongly correlated with improved educational outcomes and institutional efficiency. Recommendations included implementing standardized leadership development programs, increasing investment in leadership training resources, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within vocational institutions.
