ABSTRACT: This study investigates strategies for promoting lifelong learning in vocational professions, emphasizing the importance of continuous education for career advancement and adaptability. The objectives were to (1) identify barriers to lifelong learning among vocational professionals, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of current lifelong learning initiatives, and (3) propose strategies to enhance lifelong learning opportunities. A survey design was employed to gather data from vocational professionals, educators, and employers, providing a comprehensive view of lifelong learning practices. The sample size included 180 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure diverse perspectives. The case study focused on Delta State, Nigeria, known for its robust vocational sector. Findings indicated that barriers such as time constraints, financial limitations, and lack of access to relevant courses hindered lifelong learning. Current initiatives were found to be effective but underutilized. Recommendations included developing flexible learning schedules, providing financial incentives and subsidies, and creating partnerships between vocational institutions and industry to offer relevant, up-to-date courses that meet the needs of working professionals and promote lifelong learning.
