ABSTRACT: This study examines the impact of globalization on vocational career pathways, focusing on how global trends influence vocational education and employment opportunities. The objectives were to (1) assess the influence of globalization on vocational education curricula and career opportunities, (2) evaluate the readiness of vocational graduates for global job markets, and (3) propose strategies to enhance the global competitiveness of vocational students. A survey design was employed to gather data from students, educators, and industry professionals, providing a comprehensive understanding of globalization's impact. The sample size comprised 200 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure relevant insights. The case study focused on Lagos State, Nigeria, a region with strong international economic ties. Findings revealed that globalization had a significant impact on vocational career pathways by increasing the demand for globally relevant skills and competencies. Vocational graduates were found to be partially prepared for global job markets, with gaps in language skills and international exposure noted. Recommendations included incorporating global competencies into vocational curricula, providing opportunities for international internships and exchanges, and fostering partnerships with global industries to enhance the readiness of vocational students for the global job market.
