ABSTRACT: This study investigates strategies for promoting diversity in technical education programs, emphasizing the importance of inclusive educational environments. The objectives were to (1) assess the current state of diversity in technical education, (2) identify barriers to diversity, and (3) propose strategies to enhance diversity in technical education programs. A survey design was employed to collect data from students, educators, and administrators, providing a comprehensive understanding of diversity issues. The sample size comprised 200 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure relevant insights from those involved in technical education. The case study focused on Lagos State, Nigeria, known for its diverse population and educational institutions. Findings revealed that while there was an awareness of the need for diversity, actual representation of minority groups was limited due to factors such as socioeconomic barriers and lack of targeted outreach. Recommendations included implementing diversity training for educators, developing scholarship programs for underrepresented groups, and creating inclusive curricula that reflect diverse perspectives to promote a more inclusive and equitable technical education environment.
