ABSTRACT: This research explores the role of soft skills development in enhancing vocational outcomes, emphasizing the importance of interpersonal and cognitive skills alongside technical training. The objectives were to (1) assess the current emphasis on soft skills in vocational training programs, (2) evaluate the impact of soft skills development on vocational graduates' employability and performance, and (3) identify effective methods for integrating soft skills training into vocational education. A survey design was chosen to collect data from students, educators, and employers, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of the role of soft skills. The sample size included 220 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include those with experience in vocational education and workforce development. The case study was conducted in Anambra State, Nigeria, known for its educational initiatives and workforce development programs. Findings indicated that soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving were critical in enhancing vocational graduates' employability and job performance. However, these skills were often underemphasized in vocational curriculums. Recommendations included incorporating dedicated soft skills modules into vocational training programs, providing continuous professional development for educators, and fostering collaborations with industry to ensure relevant and practical soft skills training.
