Abstract: Innovations in assessing digital competencies in vocational education are essential for preparing students to thrive in digital-driven industries and occupations. This study examines emerging assessment methods that evaluate students' proficiency in digital skills, focusing on their alignment with industry standards and educational outcomes. Objectives include evaluating the effectiveness of innovative assessment tools for digital competencies, exploring educators' and students' perceptions of digital skills assessment, and identifying best practices for integrating digital assessments into vocational curricula. A survey research design is justified for its ability to gather data from 200 participants, including vocational educators, students, and industry experts, using purposive sampling to ensure representation across technical disciplines in Rivers State. Case studies will highlight vocational institutions known for their progressive approaches to digital skills assessment, showcasing effective strategies and outcomes. Findings reveal that innovative digital assessments improve students' technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and readiness for digital workplaces. Recommendations emphasize incorporating industry-relevant digital skills into curriculum, providing professional development for educators in digital pedagogy, and investing in technology infrastructure to support digital learning environments in vocational education.
