Abstract: Addressing the mental health needs of vocational students is critical for promoting their overall well-being and academic success. This study examines the prevalence of mental health issues among vocational students and evaluates the effectiveness of current support systems. The objectives are: (1) to assess the mental health needs of vocational students, (2) to evaluate the effectiveness of existing mental health support services, and (3) to propose strategies for improving mental health support. A survey research design is utilized to collect data from students and mental health professionals. The sample size includes 250 participants selected through purposive sampling. The case study focuses on vocational institutions in Bayelsa State, known for their student support initiatives. Findings indicated a significant prevalence of stress, anxiety, and depression among vocational students, exacerbated by academic pressures and financial concerns. Recommendations included enhancing mental health awareness campaigns, providing accessible counseling services, and integrating mental health education into vocational curricula.
