Abstract: Innovations in assessing teamwork skills in vocational programs are crucial for developing students' collaborative abilities, essential for workplace success. This study explores innovative methods for assessing teamwork skills and their impact on student performance and employability. The objectives are: (1) to identify effective assessment methods for teamwork skills, (2) to evaluate the impact of these assessments on student outcomes, and (3) to propose improvements for teamwork skill assessment. A survey research design is employed, justified by the need to gather comprehensive data from students, educators, and employers. The sample size includes 250 participants selected through purposive sampling. The case study focuses on vocational institutions in Kano State, known for their emphasis on teamwork and collaborative projects. Findings indicated that innovative assessment methods such as peer assessments, project-based evaluations, and self-reflections significantly enhanced students' teamwork skills and employability. However, challenges such as ensuring fairness and consistency in assessments were noted. Recommendations included developing standardized assessment criteria, providing training for educators on innovative assessment methods, and incorporating teamwork assessments into all vocational courses.
