Abstract: Critical thinking skills are essential for technical education students to analyze problems, make informed decisions, and develop innovative solutions. This study explores strategies for promoting critical thinking skills in technical education and evaluates their effectiveness. The objectives are: (1) to identify effective strategies for developing critical thinking skills in technical students, (2) to evaluate the impact of these strategies on student learning outcomes, and (3) to assess student and educator perceptions of critical thinking development. A survey research design is utilized, justified by the need to gather comprehensive data from students and educators on their experiences with critical thinking strategies. The sample size comprises 300 participants selected through purposive sampling to include diverse technical education programs. The case study focuses on technical schools in Osun State, known for their emphasis on critical thinking development. Findings revealed that strategies such as problem-based learning, case studies, and collaborative projects significantly enhanced critical thinking skills among students. Both students and educators expressed positive perceptions of these strategies, noting their effectiveness in fostering analytical and problem-solving abilities. Recommendations included integrating critical thinking development into technical curricula, providing professional development for educators on critical thinking instruction, and promoting a culture of inquiry and innovation in technical education.
