Abstract: This study addresses the digital divide in accessing technical education in Nigeria, examining disparities in digital access, technology adoption, and digital literacy skills among vocational students and educators. The digital divide presents challenges in equitable access to digital resources, online learning platforms, and technology-enhanced education opportunities essential for student learning, skill development, and career readiness in technical fields. The research aims to (1) identify barriers and challenges contributing to the digital divide in technical education, (2) assess perceptions and experiences of stakeholders regarding digital access issues, technology barriers, and educational inequalities, and (3) propose recommendations for bridging the digital divide, enhancing digital infrastructure, and promoting digital literacy initiatives to ensure equitable access to quality technical education and support student success in Nigeria. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from vocational educators, technology coordinators, and educational policymakers familiar with digital access disparities and technology integration challenges. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational educators, ICT specialists, and educational administrators in Rivers State. Case studies will examine digital inclusion programs and their outcomes in improving digital access, technology skills development, and educational equity in technical education settings. Findings indicated disparities in digital access, identified challenges such as infrastructure limitations and digital skills gaps, and highlighted effective practices such as mobile learning initiatives, ICT training programs, and digital equity strategies in narrowing the digital divide and promoting inclusive technical education. Recommendations include expanding broadband infrastructure, integrating digital literacy into curriculum frameworks, and fostering partnerships to enhance digital access and equity in technical education, ensuring all students have equal opportunities to succeed in digital-driven economies.
