Abstract: This study explores strategies for promoting lifelong learning habits in vocational students in Nigeria, focusing on continuous learning initiatives, professional development opportunities, and lifelong skill acquisition strategies designed to cultivate a culture of learning, adaptability, and career growth among vocational learners. Lifelong learning habits enable vocational students to acquire new skills, stay updated with industry trends, and remain competitive in dynamic job markets, essential for sustaining career success and personal growth throughout their professional lives. The research aims to (1) identify effective strategies and approaches for promoting lifelong learning habits among vocational students, (2) assess perceptions and experiences of educators, industry mentors, and vocational learners regarding the benefits and challenges of lifelong learning initiatives, and (3) propose recommendations for integrating lifelong learning principles, enhancing learning resources, and fostering a supportive learning environment to empower vocational students with lifelong learning skills, career resilience, and continuous professional development. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from vocational educators, industry mentors, and vocational students familiar with lifelong learning practices and outcomes. A sample size of 400 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent vocational educators, industry trainers, and vocational learners in Plateau State. Case studies will examine successful lifelong learning programs and their outcomes in promoting skill enhancement, career advancement, and personal development among vocational students. Findings indicated positive impacts of lifelong learning strategies on student motivation, identified challenges such as resource accessibility and learning continuity, and highlighted effective practices such as digital learning platforms, mentorship programs, and skills development workshops in fostering lifelong learning habits and empowering vocational students for future success. Recommendations include fostering a learning culture, expanding learning opportunities, and integrating career planning and development resources to support lifelong learning initiatives and cultivate a skilled, adaptable vocational workforce in Nigeria.
