Abstract: This study explores the role of vocational education in promoting workforce diversification in Nigeria, examining strategies, policies, and initiatives aimed at increasing representation and equity across diverse demographic groups in technical fields and industries. Workforce diversification initiatives in vocational education aim to address disparities in employment opportunities, promote inclusive economic growth, and support underrepresented groups including women, minorities, and persons with disabilities. The research aims to (1) assess the impact of vocational education programs in fostering workforce diversity and equity, (2) identify barriers and challenges hindering inclusive participation in technical education and related industries, and (3) propose recommendations for advancing diversity initiatives and promoting equitable access to vocational training and employment opportunities. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from vocational educators, policymakers, and industry leaders involved in diversity and inclusion efforts. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational educators, diversity officers, and industry representatives in Rivers State. Case studies will examine successful diversity programs and their outcomes in enhancing workforce representation and career advancement opportunities for underrepresented groups. Findings indicated positive impacts of vocational education in promoting workforce diversity, identified barriers such as systemic biases and limited outreach to marginalized communities, and highlighted the role of targeted recruitment, mentorship programs, and inclusive policies in fostering inclusive participation in technical fields. Recommendations include enhancing diversity training, expanding outreach initiatives, and strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and employers to support workforce diversification goals in vocational education.
