Abstract: This research explores the role of peer learning in enhancing technical skills in Nigerian vocational education, examining collaborative learning approaches, peer feedback mechanisms, and knowledge sharing dynamics among vocational students to promote skill acquisition and mastery. Peer learning involves students teaching and learning from each other, fostering active engagement, social interaction, and shared understanding of technical concepts and practical applications. The study aims to (1) investigate the effectiveness of peer learning strategies in developing technical skills proficiency and teamwork among vocational students, (2) explore peer learning models and approaches implemented in vocational education settings, and (3) propose recommendations for optimizing peer learning environments to enhance technical education outcomes and student learning experiences. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from vocational instructors, peer tutors, and students engaged in peer learning activities. A sample size of 400 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent peer tutors, vocational students, and educational administrators in Kaduna State. Case studies will examine successful peer learning initiatives and their impact on student skill development and collaborative learning outcomes. Findings indicated positive perceptions of peer learning benefits such as knowledge retention and interpersonal skills development, identified challenges including peer assessment reliability and group dynamics management, and highlighted the role of instructor facilitation and structured peer support in optimizing peer learning effectiveness. Recommendations include training peer facilitators, integrating peer feedback mechanisms, and fostering a supportive learning environment to leverage peer learning as a valuable pedagogical strategy for enhancing technical skills acquisition and student success in vocational education.
