Abstract: This study examines strategies for recruiting and retaining qualified vocational educators in Nigeria, addressing workforce challenges, professional development needs, and retention incentives essential for sustaining high-quality vocational education programs and enhancing educator effectiveness and job satisfaction. Qualified vocational educators are crucial for delivering industry-relevant instruction, fostering student learning, and promoting educational excellence in technical and vocational fields. The research aims to (1) identify recruitment challenges and retention factors affecting vocational educators in Nigeria, (2) explore effective strategies and best practices for recruiting and retaining qualified vocational instructors, and (3) propose recommendations for improving educator recruitment, support, and retention strategies to strengthen vocational education systems and educational outcomes. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from vocational educators, educational administrators, and human resource professionals. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational instructors, education policymakers, and human resource managers in Delta State. Case studies will examine successful educator recruitment and retention initiatives and their impact on educator satisfaction and program stability. Findings indicated challenges such as competitive job markets and limited career advancement opportunities for vocational educators, identified effective recruitment strategies including targeted outreach and professional development incentives, and highlighted the role of mentorship and institutional support in enhancing educator retention. Recommendations include enhancing professional development opportunities, promoting career pathways for vocational educators, and implementing supportive workplace policies and incentives to attract and retain qualified instructors in vocational education.
