Abstract: This research evaluates the impact of industry advisory boards (IABs) on technical education quality in Nigeria, examining the roles, contributions, and effectiveness of IABs in informing curriculum development, promoting industry alignment, and enhancing educational outcomes in vocational and technical schools. IABs play a crucial role in bridging the gap between educational institutions and industries, ensuring vocational programs meet current industry standards, skills demands, and technological advancements. The study aims to (1) analyze the functions and structures of IABs in technical education institutions, (2) assess the impact of IAB recommendations and collaborations on curriculum relevance, student skill acquisition, and employability outcomes, and (3) propose recommendations for optimizing IAB engagement and effectiveness to enhance technical education quality and industry relevance. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from IAB members, educational administrators, and industry representatives. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent IAB members, vocational educators, and industry leaders in Benue State. Case studies will examine successful IAB partnerships and their contributions to curriculum innovation and workforce development. Findings indicated positive outcomes such as industry-aligned curriculum updates, enhanced student internship opportunities, and improved graduate employability, with challenges including sustainability of IAB engagements and diverse industry representation. Recommendations include fostering proactive industry collaboration, enhancing IAB governance structures, and leveraging industry insights to ensure ongoing curriculum responsiveness and vocational education quality improvement.
