Abstract: This research explores strategies for promoting gender equity in technical education in Nigeria, addressing disparities in enrollment, retention, and career progression among male and female students in vocational and technical fields. Gender equity is crucial for fostering inclusive and diverse learning environments and ensuring equal access to educational opportunities and career pathways. The study aims to (1) identify barriers and challenges hindering gender equity in technical education, (2) assess effective strategies and interventions promoting female participation and leadership in technical fields, and (3) propose recommendations for enhancing gender equity policies and practices to support equitable access and outcomes in technical education. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from students, educators, and gender equality advocates. A sample size of 400 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent vocational students, gender equality organizations, and educational policymakers in Bayelsa State. Case studies will explore successful initiatives promoting gender equity in technical education settings. Findings indicated persistent gender stereotypes, lack of female role models, and institutional biases impacting female participation and advancement in technical fields, alongside successful interventions such as mentorship programs and inclusive recruitment policies. Recommendations include implementing gender-sensitive curriculum, enhancing support services for female students, and fostering a gender-inclusive culture to promote equal opportunities and empowerment in technical education in Nigeria.
