Abstract: This study explores trends in curriculum development in vocational schools in Nigeria, examining innovations, challenges, and future directions shaping vocational education programs' content and delivery. Curriculum development is pivotal in ensuring vocational education remains relevant, responsive to industry needs, and aligned with technological advancements and educational reforms. The research aims to (1) identify emerging trends and innovations in vocational curriculum development, (2) analyze challenges and barriers hindering curriculum reform and adaptation in vocational schools, and (3) propose strategies for enhancing curriculum development processes to improve educational outcomes and workforce readiness. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from curriculum developers, educators, and industry experts. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational institutions, curriculum specialists, and industry stakeholders in Ogun State. Case studies will highlight successful curriculum innovations and their impact on student learning and employability. Findings indicated a shift towards competency-based education, digital integration, and industry partnerships in curriculum design, with challenges in resource constraints and resistance to change. Recommendations include fostering collaboration with industries, promoting interdisciplinary approaches, and investing in professional development for educators to facilitate effective curriculum development and adaptation in vocational schools.
