Abstract: This study investigates strategies for integrating sustainability practices into technical education in Nigeria, addressing environmental awareness, resource efficiency, and sustainable development principles in vocational training programs. As global sustainability challenges intensify, integrating sustainable practices into technical education is critical for preparing students to contribute to environmentally responsible industries and communities. The research aims to (1) assess current initiatives and approaches integrating sustainability into technical education curricula and practices, (2) analyze the impact of sustainability education on student knowledge, attitudes, and skills development, and (3) propose strategies and frameworks for embedding sustainability principles into vocational training to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable development. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from educators, sustainability experts, and industry practitioners. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational institutions, environmental organizations, and sustainable industries in Ekiti State. Case studies will highlight successful sustainability integration models in technical education. Findings indicated varying levels of sustainability integration across programs and identified challenges such as curriculum adaptation and resource constraints. Recommendations include developing interdisciplinary sustainability modules, fostering partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations, and promoting experiential learning opportunities to embed sustainability principles into technical education effectively and prepare students for sustainable careers in Nigeria's evolving economy.
