Abstract: This study examines strategies for enhancing infrastructure for practical training in technical schools in Nigeria, addressing challenges and opportunities to improve hands-on learning experiences and technical skill development. Adequate infrastructure is essential for providing students with practical, industry-relevant training that aligns with modern technological advancements and industry standards. The research aims to (1) assess the current state of infrastructure in technical schools and its adequacy for practical training, (2) identify barriers and challenges hindering infrastructure development and maintenance, and (3) propose recommendations and strategies for upgrading and expanding infrastructure to enhance practical training effectiveness in technical education. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from students, educators, and technical school administrators. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent technical schools and educational stakeholders in Oyo State. Case studies will highlight successful infrastructure improvement projects and their impact on student learning outcomes. Findings indicated significant disparities in infrastructure quality and accessibility across technical schools, affecting the delivery and quality of practical training. Recommendations include increasing investment in infrastructure, leveraging public-private partnerships for funding, and adopting sustainable maintenance practices to ensure technical schools provide state-of-the-art facilities conducive to effective practical training and skill development.
