Abstract: This research explores the role of government-private sector partnerships in enhancing vocational training in Nigeria, examining collaborative efforts to address skills gaps, improve training quality, and promote workforce development. Government-private sector partnerships are crucial for aligning vocational education with industry needs, enhancing training relevance, and supporting economic growth through skilled workforce development. The study aims to (1) assess the impact of government-private sector partnerships on vocational training outcomes and industry engagement, (2) analyze successful partnership models and collaborative initiatives in vocational education, and (3) propose strategies for fostering effective partnerships and maximizing their impact on vocational training effectiveness. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from government officials, industry leaders, and vocational training providers. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent government agencies, private sector employers, and vocational training institutions in Plateau State. Case studies will examine successful partnership frameworks and their contributions to vocational training success. Findings indicated that effective partnerships enhance curriculum relevance, facilitate industry placements, and improve graduate employability. Recommendations include incentivizing collaboration, establishing joint training programs, and developing policy frameworks to sustain and scale government-private sector partnerships in vocational education for long-term workforce development and economic competitiveness.
