Abstract: This study investigates strategies for promoting diversity in technical education programs in Nigeria, addressing barriers to inclusion and enhancing educational opportunities for underrepresented groups. Diversity in technical education encompasses gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and disability, yet these groups often face systemic challenges in accessing and succeeding in technical fields. The research aims to (1) identify barriers and discriminatory practices limiting diversity in technical education, (2) analyze effective strategies and interventions promoting inclusivity and equity in technical institutions, and (3) propose policy recommendations and educational reforms to foster a diverse and inclusive technical education environment. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from students, educators, and diversity advocates. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent diverse student populations and educational stakeholders in Edo State. Case studies will highlight successful diversity initiatives and their impact on educational outcomes. Findings indicated persistent barriers such as cultural biases, lack of role models, and inadequate support services for marginalized groups in technical education. Recommendations include implementing diversity policies, providing targeted scholarships and mentorship programs, and enhancing inclusive pedagogies to create welcoming and supportive learning environments that celebrate diversity and promote equal opportunities in technical education.
