Abstract: This research evaluates the effectiveness of career counseling in vocational schools in Nigeria, examining its role in guiding students' career decisions, enhancing employability, and promoting successful workforce integration. Career counseling plays a crucial role in helping students explore career options, develop career-related skills, and make informed educational and vocational choices. The study aims to (1) assess the impact of career counseling programs on vocational students' career readiness and decision-making, (2) analyze factors influencing the effectiveness of career counseling services in vocational schools, and (3) propose strategies for optimizing career counseling practices to better support vocational students' career development. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from students, career counselors, and educational administrators. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent vocational students and career counseling professionals in Adamawa State. Case studies will examine successful career counseling models and their impact on student outcomes. Findings indicated that career counseling enhances career awareness, goal setting, and job placement success among vocational students but highlighted challenges such as counselor caseloads and resource constraints. Recommendations include increasing counselor-to-student ratios, integrating career counseling into curriculum frameworks, and leveraging technology for personalized career guidance to improve vocational students' career outcomes and satisfaction.
