Abstract: This research analyzes trends in funding for vocational training initiatives in Nigeria, exploring sources, allocation patterns, and impacts on program sustainability and effectiveness. Adequate funding is critical for maintaining and expanding vocational training programs, yet funding mechanisms and resource allocation strategies vary widely across regions and sectors. The study aims to (1) examine current funding sources and mechanisms supporting vocational training initiatives, (2) assess the adequacy and equity of funding distribution among different vocational sectors and geographic areas, and (3) propose strategies for improving funding sustainability and efficiency in vocational education. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from policymakers, funders, and program administrators. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent funding agencies, vocational training providers, and government officials in Sokoto State. Case studies will explore successful funding models and their impact on program scalability and outcomes. Findings indicated diverse funding sources including government grants, private sector partnerships, and international donors, with challenges in equitable distribution and long-term sustainability. Recommendations include diversifying funding streams, enhancing transparency in funding allocation, and advocating for increased investment in vocational education to support workforce development and economic growth.
